Before class starts my CT is either on the computer checking e-mails or going through the planner trying to figure out what the classes will be doing later in the week. The CT tries to schedule into the next week atleast a day or two because the day to day schedule changes often so I was advised not to plan too far in advance because then I would be changing my whole planning book. The CT begins class very close to the initial bell that begins class. There have always been a few students that were late but the CT just asks them where they were and lets them know that they were late. The CT has been beginning class with a description of the days agenda for class so that the students know what to expect. The CT doesn't collect the homework right away; the homework is checked and stamped and all of the work is collected on the day of an exam and is then graded according to correctness and whether or not it was done on time (stamped), if it wasn't done on time they get a 50% deduction on that assignment. The CT engages the students in the beginning by asking them questions and does a lot of group work to keep the students involved and active.
